When you empty the box you will find a lot of pieces, and it can seem overwhelming. Just take it one step at a time and you will be fine. I had one of my teenagers lead the assembly and he was able to follow the instructions and get it done. Once assembled it feels very solid and high-quality.

I tried to put it together myself while hubby was out of town but didn’t get very far. You need a good understanding of bolts, screws and metal, which I do not have. I had time and patience but that was not enough. My husband who is handy and more knowledgeable about building things put it together in about 90 minutes. However, he still needed me to hold up the rails towards the end. Some steps seemed a little dangerous and he almost hurt his hand trying to get the guard rails together. There were several loud clanks that scared me. Close calls! I think another reviewer mentioned a trip to the ER…yikes!!
Hubby really likes the bed, the kids like it…however I would NOT buy it again if the assembly was just up to me. Lesson learned! I feel for the moms who tried to do this by themselves.
PLEASE save yourself some pain and get a handyman or carpenter to put it together if you must purchase this.
The box looks like hot garbage…. Torn up and taped randomly. Heavy as f and left not up at my front door took 2 adults to move. I am tempted to return before opening due to the state of the package/box
I wanted something sturdy and affordable. This is definitely sturdy. However, the ladder can only be installed one way, and it is so noisy that it wakes my daughter up when she moves in her sleep. She is a teenager and moves a lot in her sleep, but the plastic clips and the metal bars combine for some very noisy nights.
We’ve had this for almost 2 years. We loved it at first but now it’s not as sturdy. We moved since we first got it and after taking it apart and putting it back together, it doesn’t seem as sturdy as it was before. We put it back together properly. The support bars fall off easily. The bed makes all kinds of creaking noises now and just seems overall very lose.

The holes didn’t all line up so it took forever to try and fix that.
Does not align appropriately, some screws do not fit!!
The bed seemed okay but the top piece does not line up for the screws like the instructions say. Very unfortunate!
Cheap and broken within a week.
Hinge broke after less than a dozen uses of turning it into a couch. Its bent so bad that's its wedged and scraping against inside of bed.
