Its a small/scale chair, particularly in height. Its firm, so some like a pillow behind their back, but for my taste its comfortable. It strikes me as a piece youd get at Home Goods rather than a true furniture store, kind of an accent piece. With that said, we use it as our everyday chair in the living room with 1 kid who knows to take it easy on the furniture because we buy it all from and its not the sturdiest stuff
